A
scraper-type conveyor uses a series of bars attached to a chain to
"scrape" the chips off the bottom pan.
Typically applied to machining centers rather than lathes, a scraper
processes most materials with good chip control, such as brass, steel,
cast iron, and aluminum and is ideal for chips from most casting
applications. It generally provides less coolant loss than a hinge belt
type.
If your application produces lots of fine chips and you want to reduce
sump maintenance, then the MicroScraper may be the preferred solution.
